Drinking surprisingly well already. Densely dark fruited, with black cherry and bramble, notes of tobacco leaf, and lots of very well integrated vanilla from new oak. Hints of ripe strawberry, green tea, black plum, and lightly grilled capsicum (green pepper) round out the complex bouquet.
Very fresh and well structured on the palate. This is a wine that feels firm and blocky, medium sized square grained tannins packed densely.
The finish is absolutely beautiful and everlasting.

1st impression, earth and spice on the nose.
After decant, red fruit and mushroom on the nose. Cherry, woody, hints of spice and "seasalt". A complex med-bodied bordeaux with surprisingly gentle tannin. Fine texture with a balanced structure, and an elegant finish that ends with a subtle yet long aftertaste.

1967.
11 out of 10.
Still amazing developed aroma. Still primary aromas, but a lot of secondary and tertiary aromas. Eucalyptus, blackberries, blueberries, tobacco. Beautiful Ruby color. Balanced and present tannins and acidity.

Incredible wine. Can definitely tell it is primarily Merlot. Had the ‘15 and it was spectacular! Dark fruit, oak, earthy

Post festum.
Burgnut: the 1995 was head and shoulders above the 1996. But the 1954 stole the show.

Earthy leathery and smoky. With hints of cedar tobacco and oak. Black current fruit. Massive tannins. This wine will last a couple more decades.
