Excellent value, jammy notes of fruitiness with hints of oak. An absolute delight for pairing or enjoy it on its own…

Cutbackuary ™️ continues with backlog wines. This from a recent Grand Cru Society dinner event, theme of "2010 Around the World" , building on the 2009 Around the World from the previous year.
Next up was a 2010 from Pessac-Léognan producer Château Le Thil. This is 75/25 Merlot and Cab Sauv. Notes of black currants, pencil shavings, licorice root, and earthy notes.
At the Ranchman's Club, dinner included Porcini soup, charcoal grilled leg of lamb with cous cous and beetroot, & homemade chocolate.

90 Points, drink now until 2023. Medium deep ruby, small rims. Nose of red berries and bitter almond, chocolate and hazelnut, tobacco and cherry, coffee and smoke, followed by earthy characters and also a bit lactic. Very nicely balanced with chewy acidity and medium complex, medium bodied and finishing medium plus with very pleasant reminiscents. Great, great left bank value!

Normally not a fan of such wines but this really changed my mind. Not heavy, but great fruit flavors. Great with food or alone.

Really really good, usually not a French wine lover but this was juicy and not dry, like a good marriage between a Cab and a Pinot!

Deep ruby colour. Oak dominated in nose.
Soft in the beginning but with a tannic finish, deserves to be kept a little longer.

From Grand Cru society tasting of 2010’s around the world. Very Bordeaux, most oak & vanilla of all wines. Still immense tannins.

This one aged pretty well. Delicious, dark fruit, tobacco, red fruit, earthy. Buy again, was had at a great price. Nicole likes.
