I don’t really like red, but this was very drinkable!
Chocolate, mocha, smoke on the nose.
Ripe tannins, softened. Not harsh. Very fruity - almost like lozenges! Coffee?
Great flavours, complex.

Sweet blackcurrant and vanilla dominated, with hints of tobacco and smoke.
Fruity, spicy pyrasine flavours on the entrance. Blackcurrants, smoke, graphite and tobacco nuances. Medium+ body, sweet blackcurrant dominant. Smooth tannins

Carmenere is Chile's signature grape. They only discovered in 1994 that it wasn't merlot.
Nose: blackcurrant & black pepper. He says cooked red pepper & spice, plum & dark cherry, coffee, chocolate
Palate: oak/vanilla, black pepper, charred wood, tobacco. Not q so fruity. He says tomato leaf.
Overall pretty nice, although not fruity - smoky tobacco library leather instead.

Chile, for me, is one of the most exciting new world countries and this wine proves the untapped potential of the region.
Nose is a cornucopia of Mediterranean fragrances. Sun dried tomato, fresh oregano and basil as well as green bell pepper mingle together forming a vegetarian pizza like smell. Hot raspberries and blackberries are less noticeable but still there. Mild spices from French oak.
Palate has medium body, tannins and acidity. Alcohol is present for sure. Smoky/spicy finish.
Cracking drop.

Spicy, savoury, black fruit aromas swirling out of the glass. Very fragrant, lots of blackberry, black pepper, capsicum. Palate is very smooth, quite rich, Just enough tannins to give the structure a bit of crunch. Very satisfying wine. Great value

What do I taste in the 2019 vintage? Red Bell pepper and tobacco on the nose. Same on the palate but more dominant are cherry and spicy black pepper. I realize many people will not like this Carmenere but if you explore wine you’ve probably had other Chilean Carms. A very nice wine for those who have ventured beyond Chardonnay and Cab Sauv. I rate the 2019 vintage a 90/100

6th in tasting... Black-fruit aromas along with black olive, licorice and herbal notes drive the nose. Round, friendly and textured, with a mix of roasted plum, berry, herb, spice, olive and tomato flavors. Balanced on the finish. Really enjoyed this one.

Deep ruby with loads of herbaceous notes on the nose. Pronounced eucalyptus and smoke, with red currant. It’s a dry wine with good acidity and tannin. On the palate dark cherry. High alcohol with a medium finish. This wine is likely to age very well.
